I looked out at the great expanse of the dreamscape that had materialised before me. I was stood on a rocky outcrop on the edge of a hillside, overlooking a great forest that went on for as far as I could see. In the distance the sun was setting where rolling hills gave way to mountains.
The sun felt warm on my face, a gentle breeze carrying moist air blew from behind me, and I could hear the sound of birds calling to each other in the forest below.
I never knew that a dream could be so rich, the colours seemed deeper, sharper and more vivid than anything I had seen in my waking life. Feeling my heart beat faster and a surge of adrenaline rush through my body, I was barely able to contain my excitement as I set out to explore the dreamworld.
Scrambling down the side of the hill, I was soon surrounded by trees towering high above me. Dark vines hung down from the higher branches, and from one of them a monkey was gracefully swinging from tree to tree. Pushing my way through the soft undergworth I followed the monkey for a while, all the time going deeper into the forest.
Soon the trees were packed together so tightly that they almost blocked out the light from the rapidly setting sun. An occasional break between the giant leaves high above, let through a beam of a deep orange light, that reflected off the tiny drops of water resting on every leaf, filling the forest with a magical golden glow.
I was just starting to worry that in the fading light I wouldn't be able to find my way out of this forest, when up ahead, I saw a gap between the trees. I climbed through a mound of ferns, and as I reached the gap in the trees, the forest gave way to a grass covered clearing.
And there in the middle of this giant forest, no more than a hundreds yards in front me, stood a small wooden house.
